FIQL.com Playlist Site Offers Rhapsody Playlist Sharing

Rhapsody subscribers now have a new place to go to find and share playlists. The FIQL.com site, recently launched to facilitate playlist sharing, now offers playlists in Rhapsody format, among others. Rhapsody users simply have to click on a button to launch a FIQL playlist into their Rhapsody player. Songs that are available on Rhapsody will automatically play. In addition to their support for Rhapsody, FIQL.com shows track availability in the iTunes and MSN Music download stores, with links which allow you to sample and buy tracks from each service, respectively.

Rhapsody users wishing to submit playlists to FIQL.com can also submit their playlists using the Rhapsody player. You simply have to send the playlist to an e-mail address set-up by FIQL.com for this purpose. Once you've submitted a playlist, you'll receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your submission, after which you'll have the option of editing it and adding comments. Playlist submission instructions are also available for Musicmatch, Winamp, RealPlayer, and Windows Media Player users.

Over a thousand playlists are available, categorized by genre, mood/tempo, and various "FIQL" categories (e.g., dance, exercise, parties, relationships, etc.). Within each category, a listing of most popular playlists can be viewed. FIQL "pick" playlists can also be browsed, as well as column/playlists contributed by guest columnists. A message board is available too. As I write this, I am listening to "Songs I Discovered from Watching Movies", a playlist categorized under the following categories: Brooding / Gloomy, Dancing, Other, Relationships, Spirited / Light.

As an alternative and addition to Rhapsody's own Playlist Central, FIQL.com is well worth exploring.
